Scope of Position
The VP/Director of Sales and Marketing will report to the President/CEO and drive business growth by leading the company’s sales and marketing team. Responsibilities & Functional Tasks
- Develop and implement annual strategic plans for business development, sales and marketing that align with the company’s growth objectives.
- Collaborate with the executive team to implement and manage the company’s strategy, conducting regular reviews to achieve growth goals.
- Create market segmentation strategies as required to develop a competitive advantage. Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of target markets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and investors within key market segments in the Canadian marketplace.
- Build and lead a high-performance team, implementing incentive plans to drive results.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of the sales and marketing teams, engaging and collaborating in person with your team members a minimum of two to three times per week.
- Lead efforts to identify opportunities, prepare/review proposals and presentations, and review and act on all go/no-go project decisions.
- Liaise with the President/CEO and collaborate with internal teams, including Finance, Construction and Project Management, on all relevant projects.
- Develop and implement a sales funnel with defined roles and responsibilities at every stage and ensure accurate sales information is entered and maintained within the CRM.
- Prepare annual/monthly revenue projections based on the sales funnel.
- Monitor, analyze and report on key performance metrics to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
Preferred Experience / Education
- 10+ years of experience in sales, preferably in the construction or related industry.
- 5+ years of experience building and leading high-performing sales teams.
- Experience managing an end-to-end sales funnel from lead generation up to contract execution.
- Experience developing and managing technical proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to drive growth and operational excellence.
- Strong understanding of marketing strategies to support sales.
- Experience in managing complex projects and initiatives.
- Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, with a preference for candidates who have worked in the construction industry.
- Exceptional organizational and communication skills.
- Experience in construction, real estate development or related fields is considered an asset.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or a related field.
- Exhibits high standards of business and personal ethical conduct.
